Glasman

According to Michael Pizer “The Glasman family lived four doors down from the Przedecki family on Rynek in the town square. The father was Jacob. There were three brothers: Yanka, Fischel, and Mylek. They were tailors, like the Przedecki's. Nobody survived the war.”

Jurek Francuz recalls: The Glasman family winning the town "lottery" of 20,000 zlotys. [Today that would be $6,700.00. I doubt it would have been that amount back then!]

EMAIL MARTIN FRANKEL 28JUL2015: Dear Barbara, Thank you for your very quick reply. I hadn't expected to receive information so quickly. We are investigating the family of my late wife, Susan (nee Chaplin), born in London, who was a descendant of the Cieplinski family of Klodawa. Two of her grandfather's siblings remained in Klodawa: 1 Blima Cieplinski who married Pinkus Glasman see 105 in voters' list 2 Abram Alje Cieplinski who married Hana Flauster see 46 in voters' list. Regarding the Glasmans, I understand that all perished in the Holocaust. I do not know what happened to Mindel Glasman as I do not know if she married and left Klodawa. Some of the data you just sent on the Glasmans was completely new to me. Thank you! The main purpose of my investigation regards the children of Hana and Abram Alje (Avraham Eliyahu) Cieplinski. I am in contact with the children of Mojsze Cieplinski who emigrated to Mexico just in time. His children are Dr. William Cieplinski of New York and Dr. Menashe Cieplinski of Halifax Canada. I am also in contact with the children of Szmul Cieplinski, who joined the Soviet Red Army (or perhaps the Polish Army in Russia), survived the war and returned to Poland (Lodz). Szmul emigrated to Israel about 1955. His children were called Arie and Hanna Cieplinski before they changed their names. The rest of the family perished in the Holocaust, and we are trying to reconstruct this family. We are know that there were 2 sisters called Chaya and Perl and there was probably a third and youngest sister (who might have been named Blima). However except for the birth document of Chaya, which we received from Madeleine Okladek, we have no documentation for any of them. Because of the pain involved none of the information was ever properly transmitted to Moshe and Shmul's children. From the voters' list I see that only Moshe and Shmul were still residents of Klodawa. So I assume perhaps wrongly that Chaya and Perl might both have married and left Klodawa. The third sister (if she exists) might have been too young to vote and therefore that could be a reason for not appearing in the voting list.
