Korek
Leibel Korek survived the war in Siberia with Michael Pizer and Joseph Francuz. Before the war, Leibel worked for Avrum Francuz (Joseph's father) in his tailor shop in Klodawa. He was very religious. Joseph told the story of when they were traveling back to Poland from Russia and Joseph's wife was nursing their infant, Leibel would forfeit his bread to Stella, Joseph's wife, so she could have nourishment for her baby. Food was very scarce and rationed.

Michael Pizer says that after the war, when they were together in the DP camp, Leibel questioned his deep religious faith because of all that happened during the war. "He could not believe that if there were a God, that anything like what they lived through could have happened."
